By the year 2007, 541 was exhausted enough especially in places as Eugene, Medford, and Corvallis. As a solution for that problem, the state-approved an overlay with a new area code of 458 for the entire area, which converted the whole area into a 10-digit dialing system. By August 2011 all landlines were converted to the mandatory now 10-digit dialing system.
Can I have my own number with area code 541?
As of August 2011, all 541 area codes have completed their transition to the new 10-digit dialing system with a new area code 458. So, unfortunately, you will not be able to have your own number with the area code 541 now.

There are so many software programs nowadays that scammers use to mask their real area code with another fake one. The area code 541 was overlayed by the area code 458. How can I block a number with area code 541?
As we have mentioned before, the city of Oregon has stopped using the area code 541 by 2011. If you receive a phone call with area code 541 after that time, it is in your best interest to block that number as it is likely to be a scammer.
Blocking an unwanted call differs according to your phone's operating system (iPhone or Android).
To block unwanted calls from area code 541, do the following steps:
If you have an Android phone:
· Go to the Recent Calls menu.
· Click Details (besides the number you want to block)
· Click Block Number, and Voila. You won't receive any calls from that number anymore.
If you have an iPhone:
· Go to your Recent Calls menu.
· Choose the number that you want to block with the displaying the area code 541.
· Click the encircled (i) in it.
· Click more information from the next menu.
Click Block this number, and just like that you have blocked that number you won't receive any unwanted calls from it once again.
