Clint Eastwood was born in San Francisco, California on 31st May 1930; to Clinton Eastwood Sr. and Margaret Ruth. He is the older of the two children Clinton Sr and Ruth had. He has a younger sister Jeanne Bernhardt. According to his interviews, he has suggested that he came from a humble background with references of the Great Depression, but according to his ex-partner Sondra Locke, he was never poor, in fact, his family lived in the wealthy part of the town. Eastwood’s father was a manufacturing executive, while his mother had a clerical job at IBM.
Eastwood studied at Piedmont Middle School and Oakland Technical High School. Eastwood worked quite a few jobs, including lifeguard, paper carrier, grocery clerk, forest firefighter, and golf caddy. Eastwood said that he tried to enroll at Seattle University in 1951but instead was drafted into the United States Army during the Korean War. He was called for military duty at the Army Special Services. After many failed attempts, he finally landed a small role in Revenge of the Creature in 1955. He was cast in the western series Rawhide as Rowdy Yates, which was a breakthrough in his career. The shooting for the TV series began in 1958 and the show ran on till 1965.After that, his career took off as an actor. His directorial stint started with ‘Play Misty for Me’ and he has directed more than 30 films since then.
