David Fincher is an American music video and film director. He has a net worth of approximately $65 million. Most well-known for movies such as Alien 3, Seven, The Game, Fight Club, Panic Room, Zodiac, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button and The Social Network.
Early Life
Fincher was fascinated with filmmaking from the age of eight where at this age he also began filming with an 8mm camera after watching some documentary films.
In his teens, spent his high school years at Ashland High School where he designed sets and lighting after school and even directed plays. He also worked as a production assistant at the local television news station in Medford, Oregon. He supported himself working as a busboy, dishwasher and fry cook.
David Fincher was first worked as production head at John Korty's studio and later became visual effects director. He then became an assistant cameraman and matte photographer at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM). Later, he left ILM and started his first directorial career in television commercials. He got noticed by some producers from Los Angeles and was given the opportunity to direct a documentary film.
While establishing a career in the film industry, Fincher Co-founded a production company Propaganda Films and started directing more music videos and commercials.
Relationships
Fincher got married twice. His first marriage was with a model and photographer Donya Fiorentino in 1990 but eventually got divorced in 1995. They have one daughter together named Phelix. A year later, he married Ceán Chaffin, an American film producer who frequently collaborated with him in most of his films.
Work
Fincher served as an executive producer for the Netflix in the television series House of Cards in 2013, which received positive reviews, earning nine Primetime Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Drama Series. A year later Fincher signed a deal with HBO for three television series, titled Shakedown, Videosyncrazy and Utopia, which the latter was picked up by Amazon Studios with Gillian Flynn as creator. As of 2019, Fincher also serves as an executive producer for an animated science-fiction web series on Netflix for the series Love, Death & Robots.
