Chopra's first Bollywood appearance is for the movie The Hero: Love Story of a Spy, which earned about $6.5 million. Early Life
Being a daughter of physicians in the Indian Army, her family relocated to many places in India. When she was 13 years old, Chopra lived with her aunt in the US to study. She attended different schools too since her aunt's family frequently moved. When she was in Massachusetts, she participated in different theater productions. She also sang in the choir, studied Western classical music, and took Kathak dance. During her teenage years in the US, she experienced bullying and racism for being Indian.
At the age of 17, she won the 2000 Miss India competition and was runner up in Miss World the same year. Before the competitions, she wanted to become an aeronautical engineer, but winning changed her path. She rose to fame and received dozens offers for film and television roles.
The Tamil movie Thamizhan marked her movie debut in 2002. She also co-starred with Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron for the movie Baywatch. Isn't It Romantic with Rebel Wilson was also a hit in 2019.

Relationship with Nick Jonas
Nick Jonas made the first move to start their relationship via Twitter direct message on September 8, 2016. In May 2017, Chopra and Jonas were both invited by Ralph Lauren to attend the Met Gala in his outfits. At the time, she claimed that they were just friends.
Chopra and Jonas started officially dating in May 2018 and shortly after in July 2018, they got engaged. They tied the knot on December 1, 2019 at the Umaid Bhawan Palace in Jodhpur, Rajasthan.
