Ybn Cordae is an American rapper and songwriter. He began his rapping career using the stage name Entendre. His love for hip-hop music was influenced by Rakim, Big L, and Nas.

Cordae Amari Dunston was born on August 26, 1997 in Raleigh, North Carolina. At the age of 15, he started writing raps as a hobby, but was later influenced by the music his father listened to. Despite his growing interest in pursuing a career in rap, he finished his studies first. He graduated from high school in 2015 then attended Towson University. Unfortunately, he dropped out from college in 2018 pointing out that he’s not fit with the college.
While in college, Cordae released his first mixtapes Anxiety (2014), I’m So Anxious (2016), and I’m So Anonymous (2017) under the stage name Entendre. He changed his name to YBN Cordae when he became a member of YBN (Young Boss Niggas) in 2018. YBN is a collective of rappers, social media personalities, record producers, and promoters.

The album was supported with three singles. Its lead single Have Mercy was released on March 8, 2019 followed by Bad Idea on June 17 and RNP on July 23.
Have Mercy was produced by Kid Culture, Flippa, and Nils and had released two music videos. Bad Idea featured the vocals from American rapper Chance the Rapper. It was nominated as the Best Rap Song. RNP was produced by J. Cole and featured American singer Anderson Paak.
Ybn Cordae Tour
Cordae made his debut performance in May 2018 at the annual Rolling Loud music festival. He performed with YBN Nahmir and YBN Almighty Jay. He again performed with the duo at the 2018 XXL Freshman Show. From May to September 2018, he joined Juice Wrld, along with Lil Mosey and Blake, on his North American WRLD Domination tour at 28 urban cities. It was then announced that YBN will have their month-long tour in Europe as a collective.
